Forget about On Page SEO at your own Peril :-
If you are not aware of the importance of backlinks in relation to rankings in the SERPs then you must have been dead for the last few years or so. Okay now that I have that out of the way what I wanted to talk briefly about was On Page Search Engine Optimization and why I think you should still do it.
There are many that will tell you that off page seo tactics are much more important( at least in in googles eyes ) when it comes to ranking for a keyword and while they are correct to a point in saying this do not under estimate the power of on page seo if you are trying to rank for a less competitive keyword.
I know of a smart marketer ( I am going to start implementing his methods soon and I will post about them here at my blog ) who uses mainly on page seo tactics and still manages to rank for keywords that are in my book fairly competitive. Now what this guy does is only rank for keywords where users are at the “end of the buying cycle” so while his keywords are not as competitive as others people want to go after the keywords he likes to use are probable candidates with Credit Card in hand.
